Community Woodlands Association were keen to showcase the social and economic benefits derived from community woodlands through four case studies of diverse communities actively managing their woodlands. The objective was to deliver case studies of 4 community woodlands, showcasing the diversity of benefits communities receive from active management of their local woodlands, allowing the 4 communities to better communicate the benefits and through publication of results disseminate information on the economic and social benefits of native woodlands
under community management. The four groups, covering a range of woodland types, tenure circumstances and activities, were:
The project was funded by Future Woodlands, Pebble Trust and Scottish Forestry Trust and ran for 6 months until mid- January 2023 and employed one full time equivalent post which was completed as a job share.
