Loch Abar Mòr is a nature restoration partnership led by SCOTLAND: The Big Picture, working at a regional scale to enable communities across Lochaber to thrive in an ecologically diverse and climate resilient landscape.
This grant helped to engage 93 key land managers through four demonstration site visits and raised awareness about the value of riparian woodland for 202 locals who attended three film screenings at Spean Bridge, Lochaline and Kentallan.
As a result of the engagement, SBP secured a Riverwoods Development Grant to enable a wild tree survey across the Rannoch catchment and a grant for riparian seed islands across the Lochy catchment. 28 local volunteers spent 2 days planting 700 trees along the banks of the River Lochy.
