Founded in 2012 to fund innovative thinking for trees and native woodlands, we’ve grown to offer programmes that help farmers and landowners plant or restore native woodlands. Today, our work spans rural and urban spaces, from research to action. Through the power of trees, we believe we can create lasting change for Scotland.
Our vision is a Scotland where trees and native woodlands are thriving for our wildlife, communities and climate.
Our mission is to protect, create and restore woodlands. We do this by building skills, sharing knowledge, and transforming urban and rural landscapes through meaningful partnerships.
Since 2012, we’ve grown from supporting research into native woodlands to leading national programmes that restore ancient woods, grow skills, support local nurseries, and bring trees into everyday spaces.
More than half of Scotland’s native woodlands are in poor condition — and our towns and cities need greener spaces too. That’s where we focus our efforts.
We enable the people, projects and partnerships making woodland recovery possible. We work with carefully chosen partners, landowners and communities to restore woodlands, create urban green spaces, and build the skills needed to bring Scotland’s trees and landscapes back to life.
Our partnerships are long term. We encourage knowledge-sharing, monitoring, and learning, so that every project delivers lasting benefits for Scotland’s people and nature.
